How to pack a backpack

- Nov 16, 2020-

The way we recommend is to fold the book into a cuboid like a quilt, its length and width are the same as the backpack or a little larger, and use a flat rope to tighten, the ground nails are also clamped in the book (because the ground nails are equipped with protective covers , So it will not damage the book). The folded book is recommended to be placed on the top layer of the backpack, which means that when the backpack is opened, the first one is the tent. This is more in line with the order of camping. We often set up a tent before doing other things in the camp, and when withdrawing from the camp, we also pack the tent first before stacking the tent.

Tent: I often see people (including myself) spreading things all over the ground and putting up (harvesting) tents. It not only makes people feel messy, but also gets a lot of materials wet when it rains or snows. You may ask: Will placing the tent on top will affect the retrieval of other items? It will be somewhat hindered, but because the book is harvested as a whole, it is not laborious to retrieve it, and you will get used to it when you are proficient. The tent poles are placed along the side of the backpack near the back (the compartment of the backpack should be relaxed at this time, so that the tent poles can be inserted into the bottom of the backpack). The tent poles can also be hung on both sides of the backpack, but it is best to put them inside the backpack when walking through the jungle, this is mainly to better protect the tent poles. The method of loading scattered items The volume of scattered items is uneven, and the weight and texture are different, so the filling method is also different.

The difference between soft and hard: For soft materials (such as hats, gloves, etc.) we recommend filling the gaps of large, hard, and tangible materials (such as sets of pots, water bottles, etc.). For hard materials, the shape is irregular and small. Items (such as headlights, stove tops, etc.), we suggest to put them in a set of pots, lunch boxes and other containers, which are convenient for filling, and can effectively protect these small items. Of course, can your headlights be put into lunch boxes, stoves Whether you can put it in the pot set is all at your choice when you buy it. Small items that you can take at any time should be placed on the second floor-under the tent, often on the same level as the food. How to install water and food. The packaging method of food is very similar to that of scattered items, and the location is also on the same level, so I won’t say more here.

Water: As for water, it is often the one with a larger proportion of all items. Its placement is directly related to the center of gravity of the backpack, which in turn affects the entire journey. But each person’s weight-bearing capacity is different, and the comfort is also different, just like some people put heavy objects on their heads, and some people use a cloth to put a cloth on their foreheads... But as far as we like, we are willing to put water ( Usually three liters) is placed in the middle of the backpack, which is the third layer, which makes the center of gravity of the whole backpack on the middle, so that there will be the best comfort (personal experience). For water containers, we recommend using a square cross-section, which can reduce the volume occupied by the container and also reduce the gap.

Clothing: clothing and sleeping bags are placed, especially those used for winter trips, which occupy almost the same volume as sleeping bags. Fleece and down jackets have good compressibility. However, we do not recommend using compression bags, which will be fetched. A single piece of clothing causes great difficulties. The way we advocate is to put the clothes on the bottom of the backpack and above the sleeping bag (the fourth layer). In this way, the weight of the first, second, and third layer items can be used to compress the space occupied by the clothes as much as possible, and it can be conveniently taken from the bottom bin when needed. The sleeping bag is the fifth layer. It is recommended to use a compression bag, which can not only reduce the volume, facilitate access, and even compress the changed clothes.
